So a little about me, I am Iain and I am a wedding photographer based in the West Coast of Scotland. I’ve been taking pictures since the early 80’s when I picked up my first film camera and my dark room equipment and needless to say I had’nt a clue what I was doing but I was hooked!
I currently live in Wemyss Bay with my partner Jeanette and our new cat Rosco. When I am not photographing weddings my other passion is hiking or “munro bagging” I came to it late but now I am totally hooked, Scotland’s mountains are majestic…its where I go to recharge the batteries and it keeps you reasonably fit too. Although getting out this past year with COVID has been difficult I do have a good hill range on my door step, not very high but you can get a good 18 mile walk in but I am really looking forward getting onto the mountains again.
In my early photo career I photographed mostly Triathlon and Adventure Sports,
I’ve shot at Common Wealth Games, various Triathlon World and European championships and for a varied number of lifestyle & sports magazines.
( walking on my local hills )
Apart from chasing athletes up and down Ben Nevis and in and out of lochs, I did manage a number of magazine covers which I am quite proud of and commissions from commercial Sports Agencies and Brands like Specialized Bikes, Saucony and Lucazade Sports.
I even managed to get a full spread published in the Post Office year book!
For over 15 years I did the photography for the governing body of Triathlon in Scotland and a for a time British Triathlon too.
I started photographing my first weddings in the mid 90’s with my very first being for friends where I struck it lucky as it was at the fabulous Culzean Castle and year on year my wedding commissions have been growing.
I was pretty much semi professional but my long term goal was to turn fully professional. So in 10th July 2010 I made the jump and left my 25 year job with IBM to turn a passion into a full time living. Probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.
Fast forward to today and my wedding business is extremely busy with over 50 weddings a year and 90% of them being Bride referrals which is fantastic. So I started phasing out all my other active lifestyle commitments to concentrate fully on my weddings business.
So that’s me , I am very easy going, love the outdoors lifestyle, like a good laugh but take my profession seriously and I am pretty lucky to actually love and enjoy my full time job which I think shows in my work.
If you want to have a chat about your wedding day then don’t hesitate to get in touch…

Iain is a brilliant photographer! The pre wedding shoot was a good laugh and definitely helped us prepare for the wedding day. Iain was great on the day and ensured we got all the pictures we wanted! Received our photos less than two weeks after our wedding and they are amazing! Thanks Iain!!
Iain was a recommendation to me from 5 other previous brides which speaks volumes. We received our photographs within a week of the wedding day and they blew us away. Iain captured every little detail, moment and emotion of our day, his candid style is amazing and it's given us very special memories of our big day and our loved ones. He is also a genuinely lovely guy, very professional

We asked Iain to be our wedding photographer and it was one of the best decisions we made regarding our big day! We cannot put into words how relaxed and comfortable Iain made us feel – the whole experience was great fun and for most of the day you didn’t notice Iain snapping away in the background! They are stunning – thank you so much, you’ve done an amazing job of capturing the day for us! We’re over the moon – thank you for only adding to our big day!
